You’ll be responsible for supporting the efficient daily operations of the Farm Boy GTA Central Meat Facility, contributing to the coordinated efforts of producing, packaging, and distributing high-quality fresh meat products while ensuring operational excellence, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role supports daily operations to help ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. Here are some of the other ways you’ll help us stand out:

  • Support and assist in coordinating all functions of the Central Meat Facility including: inventory control, production, product quality, sanitation, packaging, shipping, administration, and security.
  • Assist with the daily execution of production, packaging, and billing processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely distribution of retail products.
  • Partner with Human Resources in supporting the recruitment, training, development, scheduling, communication, motivation, and recognition of Central Meat team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to facility operations.
  • Oversee and support the execution of cleaning and sanitation practices in accordance with Government regulations and Farm Boy food safety standards.
  • Promote and maintain safe working conditions by ensuring Health & Safety policies, food safety procedures, and operational best practices are consistently followed.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment by providing guidance, support, and assistance to fellow team members as required.
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation, handling, and distribution of fresh meat products while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, workflow, and overall facility performance.
  • Take on additional responsibilities on a periodic basis to support overall department operations.

Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
  • Typically requires completion of a related post-secondary program, plus 3 years of experience in the meat industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of a Farm Boy approved Food Safety Course plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
  • Good working knowledge of sanitation practices, food safety principles, and associated operational risks.
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational excellence.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent use of protective equipment or clothing, and work that is frequently performed in colder environments.
  • Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
